Our full squad turned out for the Girls United under 11s tournament. Altogether there were six teams in attendance.10 minute matches, one way. Our first game was against Greenbank. Although the final score was 0-0, we had most of the possession and a couple of corners. A good game but we just didn't quite get it in the net! Next against Ruskington, we won 2-0. Our girls played very well. We then played St Bartophs Red, with their infamous demon striker (who normally wears a green hat!). Our defenders were marking really well, the game was pretty equal, both teams having chances - but with only 1 minute to go 'the hat' broke through and scored. We lost 1-0! It was a really hot muggy afternoon. Most of our matches were played virtually back to back - which was really hard. Next Grantham we held to a 0-0 draw, and finally St Bartolph Pink, we won 2-0. With 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat. Collingham came overall third. The first two places were tied between St Bartolph Red and Grantham. A pretty close result. A great performance from the team: Alice Smith, Jess Hogg, Erica Warrington, Holly Fender, Abigail Monaghan, Pia Bradley, Iona Kyle, Jasmine Keyworth and Kirsten Semi.
